– In English: Swepiracy was a Swedish web site that made pirated copies of movies available to the public by file sharing. It was closed down by Swedish police in 2012. On October 11, 2016, the owner of the site was sentenced to pay 1.7 million Swedish kronor (more than 200,000 U.S. dollars) in damages to the copyright holding film companies. He was also sentenced to 100 hours of community service and given a suspended sentence. The verdict was appealed, see Åsa-Nisse-målet. – For more summaries in English, click here.
